BHA Administrator Bill McGonagle is pleased to announce the availability of the Boston Housing Authority’s draft 5 Year Plan which governs the agency’s strategic focus for the years 2015-2019. The Plan is currently undergoing a public review. The 5 Year Plan provides information about the agency’s challenges, opportunities and strategy for handling operations, programs and services in a way that maximizes our ability to best serve our low-income residents. The 5 Year Plan has been developed in conjunction with the Resident Advisory Board (RAB), comprised of elected representatives from residents of the Public Housing and Section 8 programs.
In addition to serving as a planning tool, the 5 Year Plan, along with our Annual Plan, serves as a community guide to the BHA’s goals, policies, programs and activities. As required by Congress and HUD, the BHA is undergoing a 45-day public review process. A draft of the Five Year Plan is available for public review and comment from November 1 through December 15. The draft 5 Year Plan as well as the Annual Plan for FY 2015 and supporting documents can be viewed in the Planning Department of the Boston Housing Authority at 52 Chauncy Street, 11th floor during regular business hours, on our website, and will be on reserve in the Copley Square branch of the Boston Public Library. There will be two opportunities to attend a public hearing: December 8th at 10:00 AM at Boston Public Library Copley Square, 700 Boylston Street Commonwealth Salon, Boston, MA 02116 and later the same day at 6:00 P.M. at Boston City Hall, 1 City Hall Plaza, Room 801, (Congress St. entrance only) Boston, MA 02201.
