Welcome to Lenox/Camden

136 Lenox Street, South End

Camden Street is a small family development located in the South End. Lenox/Camden is really two developments that sit next to each other and were built ten years apart. Lenox, a federally funded development, was built in 1939. Camden, funded by the state, was built in 1949. However, the same group of BHA employees manages both and residents consider themselves all part of one family and share a tenant task force. Camden Street includes 70 units of the total 376 apartments within Lenox/Camden, and consist of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Both developments are three-story walk up style buildings. At Lenox, rents are calculated at 30%, at Camden, rents are calculated at 32% of a resident’s income.

Lenox/Camden is located near many shops and restaurants. The newly renovated Jim Rice Baseball Park is nearby.  Not far away are Northeastern University, Roxbury Community College, Madison Park and John O'Bryant High Schools.  South Bay shopping center is also nearby.  Health care is available at the Whittier Street Health Center and South End Community Health Center.
