Senior Safety Division
The Senior Safety Division provides security coverage at 14 Boston Housing Authority elderly/disabled developments, BHA offices at 52 Chauncy Street and the John J. Murphy Housing Service Center at 56 Chauncy Street. This effort is mandated by a Boston City Ordinance and determined based on a security survey that is conducted by the City of Boston’s Inspectional Services Department.
The primary role of Senior Safety Division officers is to ensure that guests and vendors check in at the reception desk before proceeding to their destination. Although these officers do not have police powers, they serve an important function as the eyes and ears of the police.
