Franklin Field commends all those who made unity day successful
On Saturday, July 11, 2015, the Franklin Field Family Development Task Force, with the assistance of BHA Franklin Field Management, hosted their first Unity Day in years!
The event’s program was as follows: Welcome Address from Gladys Carrasquillo (Task Force Board Chair), Mistresses of Ceremony (MC’s) – Stephanie Lobo & Aracelis Tejeda (Task Force Members), Entertainment: Music by DJ. Luis, Free Raffle for Kids and adults (T-shirts, Sneakers, Toys, etc.), Face Painting, Food, BFD Truck, Water Activities - MWRA, BHA Community Service Department, Phillips Brook House-taking Action, Bouncing House, Water Balloon / Balloon Toss, Games & Sports Activities.
The Franklin Field Task Force created a wonderful family oriented event for the community. Special “Thank You” to the following collaborating agencies for their support and donations, which made it a successful one: Catherine Louise & the Staff at Rosie’s Place – Boston, Joseph Robinson (BHA) & the Youth of our Family/Teen Center, Matt Swartz & NAFI, Boston Police Department B-3, Boston Fire Department, Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Father Conway & Reebok Corp., The Phillips Brook House, Community Youth Center (CYC), 2024 Boston, the Franklin Field Elderly Task Force, the MOM Project, Price Rite, Boston Tenant Coalition (BTC), Dominican Development Center, City Councilor Charles C. Yancey, BMC Photovoice Project, BU / HPHS Tooth Smart Program, Senior whole House – South End, Crime Watch Committee – BPD B-3, Price Supermarket, Stop & Shop Supermarkets, Sun Pizza, Happy Supermarket, and the residents of Franklin Field.
