Archdale residents receive crime award from BPD
Group named Crime Watch Group of the year at National Night Out
Boston Housing Authority manager Elena Roine happily received an award from the Boston Police Department at a National Night Out event on Monday, August 4 on behalf of residents from the Archdale public housing development. Residents at the Archdale development were named Crime Watch Group of the Year for their dedication to their local crime watch effort.
“Archdale was chosen because of the tenants’ determination to live in a peaceful environment. These tenants attended our monthly security meetings, sometimes in fear, but determined to make Archdale a safer place for the safety of their families,” said Roine. “We started out with 2 to 3 folks in attendance and now we have between 15 and 20 attending our monthly meetings and as they continue to see improvements, I hope to have more in attendance before the end of the year.”
