Boston Housing Authority

For Public Housing > Getting Settled > Pets

Residents in Boston Housing Authority (BHA) public housing developments are allowed to have pets. There are restrictions to the number, size and type of pets allowed. If you own a pet at the time of your housing offer, you should let the manager know and make sure your pet will be allowed. The manager will also let you know about registration requirements.
BHA has two pet policies. Depedning on what type of development you live in, read the Family Public Housing Pet Policy or the Elderly/Disabled Public Housing Pet Policy.
